1. About This Policy
This policy applies to physical books purchased through https://guybutchers.com.

Email: [email protected]
eBooks: eBooks by Guy Butchers are available to purchase through Amazon Kindle. Please refer to Amazon’s website and applicable Kindle policies for information about digital delivery, access, cancellations and refunds for Kindle purchases.
2. Order Processing and Fulfilment
We use BookVault to print and fulfil physical book orders placed through our website.
Orders are processed after payment has been authorised or confirmed. Processing times may vary depending on printing and fulfilment requirements.
Any processing estimate shown on our website or at checkout is an estimate unless a specific date or period has been agreed.
3. Delivery Options, Charges and Times
Available delivery methods, delivery charges and estimated delivery times will be shown during checkout where available.
We will deliver your order within the agreed delivery period or, if no other period has been agreed, within the period required by applicable law.
Delivery may be affected by printing, postal or courier delays. If your order has not arrived within the expected period, contact us at [email protected].
4. Delivery Address
Please check that your delivery address is complete and accurate before placing your order.
If you notice an error, contact us as soon as possible. We will try to make a change before the order is dispatched, but this may not be possible once printing or fulfilment has started.
If a delivery fails because the address provided was incorrect or incomplete, contact us so we can discuss the available options. Any additional charges will be handled in accordance with applicable law.
5. Missing or Delayed Orders
If your physical book has not arrived within the expected delivery period:
- Email [email protected].
- Include your order number and delivery details.
- We will review the order and, where appropriate, investigate with BookVault or the relevant delivery provider.
6. Damaged, Faulty or Incorrect Products
If your book arrives damaged, faulty or different from what you ordered, contact [email protected].
Please provide:
- Your order number
- A description of the problem
- Photographs of the book and packaging, if possible
We will review the issue and arrange the remedy required by law. Depending on the circumstances, this may include a replacement or refund.
Please contact us before sending a book back so we can explain the appropriate return arrangements. This request does not affect your statutory rights.
7. Your Right to Cancel
If you purchase physical books online as a consumer, you will generally have the right to cancel your order within 14 days after receiving the goods, without giving a reason, subject to the exceptions provided by law.
To cancel:
- Tell us clearly that you wish to cancel by emailing [email protected].
- Include your order number and the book or books you wish to return.
- Return the goods within 14 days after notifying us of your cancellation, unless another arrangement is agreed or the law provides otherwise.
Some goods may be exempt from the change-of-mind cancellation right, including goods made to a consumer’s specifications or clearly personalised goods, where the legal conditions are met.
A book is not automatically exempt simply because it is printed on demand. Whether an exception applies depends on the nature of the book and the circumstances of the order.
Your statutory rights concerning faulty or misdescribed goods remain unaffected.
8. Returning Physical Books
When exercising a statutory cancellation right, you may handle a book as reasonably necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning, similar to how you could inspect it in a shop.
You may be responsible for any diminished value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary for that inspection, where permitted by law.
For a change-of-mind cancellation, you are generally responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods if you were informed of this before ordering and the law permits this. If the goods are faulty or we are otherwise legally responsible for the return, different arrangements may apply.
Please email us before returning a book to obtain the relevant return instructions. Do not send a return directly to BookVault unless we specifically instruct you to do so.
9. Refunds
Where a statutory cancellation applies, we will refund payments in accordance with applicable law.
This generally means:
- We will refund the price paid for the cancelled goods.
- We will refund the cost of standard delivery where required by law.
- If you selected a more expensive delivery option, we generally only need to refund the standard delivery cost.
- We may withhold the refund until we receive the returned goods or evidence that they have been sent back, whichever occurs first, where the law permits.
- We will issue the refund within the applicable legal deadline, generally within 14 days of receiving the returned goods or receiving evidence that they have been sent back, whichever occurs first.
Refunds will normally be made using the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise. We will not charge a refund fee.
Faulty or misdescribed goods are handled in accordance with your statutory consumer rights, which may provide different remedies or deadlines.
10. Cancellation Before Dispatch
If you want to cancel before your physical book order is dispatched, contact us as soon as possible.
We will try to stop the order where practical. However, printing or fulfilment may already have started. Your statutory cancellation rights, where applicable, are not removed simply because an order has entered printing or fulfilment.
11. Statutory Rights
Nothing in this policy affects or limits your statutory rights under applicable UK consumer law.
Where this policy refers to cancellation, returns or refunds, it is subject to any rights and remedies that the law requires us to provide.
12. Cancellation Form
